That didn't last long (trying to share a room)

The problem wasn't his bed, it was Calvin in the same room as Violet that just didn't work. He was just too tempted to get out of bed, jump around and talk to Violet. Nap time today was the straw that broke the camel's back for me...trying to get them to sleep in the same room for over an hour was beyond frustrating...so I put him back in his crib in his room and he slept just fine. In fact he slept so well he woke up from his nap asking for breakfast! lol So they're split up again. I put his new big airplane bed in his room and he loves it, went to sleep PERFECT tonight with no trouble. And Violet ended up with a rearranged room which she loves. So its a win-win. :) Some times parenting is such a trial and error thing.

  1. I'm pretty sure there was a time for us when we split the kids up for nap time and then at night when it was dark they didn't jump and play around anymore they just went to sleep because they couldn't see and they were tired. Maybe you can move Vanessa in with Violet. She won't bother her and she'll get used to hearing someone else's noises and learn to sleep through them. Do what you must. Sometimes we just have to survive!

  2. Mom says...as you discovered, it's nearly impossible to expect a two year old to ignore their tempation to have fun and play so long as sister is in the same room...and just as trying for Violet to "be good" under the circumstances. Better that Violet get's used to having baby Vanessa in the room and visa versa than mix up Calvin and "V" if you don't absolutely have to!
    Anyway, you know that!!!
    Keep your sense of humor!
