Eli - TIME and CLOCKS like crazy

I'm overwhelmed at the thought of trying to summarize fall/winter in a blog post...so I'll have to get to that later.  I could say my fingers were too freezing to even type, which may have been partially true.  There were a few awfully cold snaps this past winter in the negative temps and so. much. snow.

Anyway....besides all that...I just need to take moment here and make a note about Eli.  He is completely obsessed with time.  All things minutes, all things hours, all things c.l.o.c.k.  He knows the exact time he wakes up every morning, what time he eats breakfast, constantly announces the time to whoever is listening, and is constantly checking the time.  He isn't anxious about anything or worried he's going to be late, but he just is constantly aware and wants the rest of us to be too.  Just now as I'm typing this, he just said "Rachel and Brian are supposed to be here at 6:15! And it's 6:03. So that means they'll be here in 12 minutes."

He knows what time of the day he was born (12:22pm), can't WAIT to wait for the clock to show "special numbers" like 1:23, 12:34, 2:34, 5:55, 2:22, 10:10, etc...he says his "favorite time" is 6:56 because that is the closest that time is to his age.  He's 6.  He's got two watches, one digital and one analog, and loves to wear them.  He's naturally good at math and enjoys numbers in general.

I really could go on and on with quotes, but thought this worth posting about.  It marks "what is thinks about" I'm guessing 99% of the time.  The other 1% of things he talks about is when he's hungry.  He normally wants cottage cheese, peanut butter pretzels, bread and butter, apple slices, cucumbers, or chicken nuggets.

And later:

"Mom, it's 6:19...three minutes past the time they should have gotten here."
